Indications and uses
- Treatment of a confirmed mixed bacterial infection susceptible to both cefixime and azithromycin.
- Treatment of a susceptible respiratory or ear, nose and throat infection only when both antibacterial components are clinically required.
- Culture-directed treatment of another infection in which the complete combination is locally authorised.
- Use only after assessment of local macrolide and cephalosporin resistance patterns.
- Avoid use when either antibacterial component lacks a clear indication or the likely pathogen is not susceptible.
